BAUS Section of Andrology

Audit Programme  - November 2008

 The section is pleased to announce the launch of its audit programme which is to start immediately. This programme is the result of the efforts of members of the Andrology Executive Committee but we hope that the wider Section membership will propose topics for future audits and participate in the running of the audit programme.  The input of trainees would be especially welcome.

 There are three audits in our programme: Surgery for Penile Prosthesis; Surgery for Penile Curvature and Priapism and the committee has decided that the best way to collect this information initially is electronically using a purpose written stand-alone Microsoft Access database.  Please download the Access database along with its installation instructions and start collecting and submitting your data immediately. The database is designed to be extremely simple to use and should be self-explanatory but you should also download the overview document which details how the program works.

Once the audit process within our section is well established we plan to migrate the audits to the web-based database currently being developed as part of the overall BAUS Data and Audit Project and funded by BAUS Council.

 These audits require you to submit data using a centre number and / or unique consultant number allocated by BAUS. If you do not know your numbers please contact Sarah Fowler either via e-mail: sarah@sarahfowler.org or the BAUS office.
